Research Enterprise Services (RES), in concert with other university Research Units and Colleges and Academic Units, supports the university’s growing international research and creative activities.

Current Activities

  • Ongoing activities related to Partnerships of the Future: Forging U.S. and Northern Africa STEM Educational and Research Networks (Morocco and Algeria);
  • Ongoing activities related to Partnerships of the Future: Forging U.S. and Southern Africa STEM Educational and Research Networks (South Africa and Namibia);
  • Submitting travel support proposals to the U.S. Department of State (USDOS) that are directly related to developing collaborations in southern Africa;
  • Collaborating with USDOS and other U.S. and northern Africa universities to develop an AI and Cybersecurity for Real-World Solutions to Global Challenges workshop; and
  • Developing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with a well-known African institution of higher education to increase educational and research and creative activity collaborations, including elements related to several of Boise State’s doctoral programs.

International Cybersecurity Lightning Talks (November 2023)

In support of Partnerships of the Future: Forging U.S. and Southern Africa STEM Educational and Research Networks, Boise State University hosted a collaborative “Lightning Talks” event with University of Namibia, Stellenbosch University, National Science Foundation, and U.S. Department of State. Lightning Talks are an hour long Zoom event where audience members listen to several participants discuss their research/work, but in a very short time span. It’s a great way to learn something new and discuss common interests with potential collaborators. Below, you’ll find a list of the speakers and a YouTube video of the event.
