Joe Jacoby, Boise State theatre arts alum, to receive Governor’s Award

Joe Jacoby, who graduated from Boise State in 1992 with a BA in theatre arts, will receive The Governor’s Award in the Arts for Support of Arts Education on November 28th in a public ceremony at Idaho State Museum in Boise. “Joe is one of the most supportive people I know,” said Michael Baltzell, a Professor in the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative writing, and a long-time friend of Jacoby’s. “It is great to see our alumni receive the accolades they deserve.”

Jacoby graduated from the University of Idaho in 1999 with an MFA in directing. While at the University of Idaho, Jacoby taught acting and speech classes and fell in love with teaching. From 2003-2022, Jacoby served as Theatre Director at the University of Idaho.
