Arts Passport
Community Partners
Community partners have been enthusiastic supporters of this program, offering free or discounted admission to events for Arts Passport students.
They include: Boise Contemporary Theater, Treefort Music Hall, Shrine Social Club, Boise Philharmonic, Idaho Film Society, The Flicks, Morrison Center and our ongoing community partner, Boise Art Museum.
Course requirements
- Attend a total of seven arts events throughout the semester
- Attend at least one event from each of the following categories: visual art, music, theater and film (maximum of two films will be accepted for credit)
- Ensure attendance at a minimum of one event every two weeks
Reflective writing
- Submit a reflective essay for each attended event. Reflective essays should explore personal reactions, insights, emotional response and critical analysis of the cultural event.
- Minimum word count: 300 (AE210) or 500 (AE410) words per reflection.
- Reflections are due by the end of each two-week period.
Online discussions
- Participate in online discussions about the cultural events attended.
- Engage with peers by sharing insights and responding to their reflections.
- Active participation in discussions is integral to the learning experience.
Final reflection paper
- Submit a comprehensive final reflection paper that synthesizes insights gained throughout the semester.
- Discuss connections between different art forms and their impact on personal growth.
Arts and Sciences Passport
The Arts Passport is just one part of the Arts and Sciences Passport program. Together, these courses let you earn credit towards your degree for attending events related to academic areas in the College of Arts and Sciences.
