About Kristina Jensen

Adjunct Instructor

Kristina Jensen joined the faculty of the Sociology Department in 2017. She earned a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Multi-Ethnic Studies from Boise State University, and a M.A. in Applied Sociology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the barriers homeless citizens face as they work to overcome their economic condition, and her graduate thesis focused on hope as a predictor of success among military veterans with co-morbidities. Her areas of interest include military social issues, poverty and homelessness, research methods, inequalities and ethnic studies. Kristina has presented at several professional conferences including the American Sociological Association, Pacific Sociological Association, Eastern Sociological Society, and Harvard.
In addition to teaching for the Sociology Department, Kristina also teaches UF 200 courses for the University Foundations program. Born in California, she moved to Idaho in 1995 and has called the gem state home ever since. She currently lives in Caldwell with her husband and regularly spends time distributing supplies and food to Boise’s homeless population.
