Jaime Sand

Jaime Sand has worked at Boise State University in the College of Health Sciences since 2004 and currently serves as a professor in the School of Public and Population Health.

Sand earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management, a Master of Arts and EdD in Education, Curriculum and Instruction at Boise State University. She is also a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS). Prior to teaching she was a health records analyst at a local hospital.

Sand has taught a variety of different courses, both in the Health Informatics and Information Management and Health Studies programs at the undergraduate level, including subjects such as health data and information, medical coding and the revenue cycle to health science and public health, medical terminology, and interprofessional collaboration. She also oversees the Health Studies program, chairs the undergraduate curriculum committee, and serves as an internship coordinator.

Sand enjoys collaborating with fellow faculty on a variety of research topics, including interprofessional education, online learning, information education and nontraditional student engagement, among others.
