An internship not only develops your professional skills, but also enables you to explore a potential career path. The School of Public and Population Health (SPPH) partners with hospitals, health agencies, nonprofits, health and fitness centers, and other community organizations to provide you with internship opportunities that match your interests.

 

Where do SPPH students intern?

Below are examples of community organizations SPPH frequently partners with to offer student internships. For a comprehensive list, visit the Career Services database of all past internships. Simply log in and select “Community & Env Hlth” as the department. You can also narrow your search in the “Subject” field.

HIIM

In this data-driven field, it’s important to put your knowledge into practice. Common internship sites for Health Informatics and Information Management include:

Apply your classroom learning in a field-based internship where you will address environmental health and safety issues in the community. Common internship sites for Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety include:

  • City of Boise Pretreatment Department
  • Micron Technology, Inc.
  • Snake River Waterkeeper
  • Southwest District Health

HEP

A field-based internship is built into this degree and enables you put your learning into action. Common internship sites for Health Education and Promotion include:
