Instructional Consultant for Inclusive Teaching – BUILD Program

Jeremy is a queer, multiracial Black educator with a background in teaching, violence prevention, and community organizing. Jeremy has an MA in Gender and Cultural Studies and has worked at Boise State since 2014–first in University Foundations, then in Housing and Residence Life, and most recently with the BUILD program. In their current role as the Instructional Consultant for Inclusive Teaching, Jeremy works with faculty to make learning environments at Boise State more inclusive. Above all, Jeremy is passionate about building safe, inclusive communities where every member has the support they need to be successful and nobody feels disposable.

Beyond their work in education, Jeremy is passionate about anti-violence work. In the past, they volunteered as a courthouse advocate for survivors of family violence and a hotline counselor for a rape crisis center. More recently, they have worked with Black and Pink–an organization dedicated to supporting currently and formerly incarcerated LGBTQIA+ people and people living with HIV/AIDS. When not working, Jeremy loves cooking, playing games, hanging out with their partner and two dogs (George and Kai), and reading young adult novels.
