Fry, Hall and Osterhout release charter school report

Idaho Policy Institute interim director Vanessa Fry, along with research associates McAllister Hall and Gabe Osterhout, recently co-authored and released a baseline charter school report in connection with a five-year award to evaluate the Idaho Communities of Excellence program.

The Idaho Policy Institute, housed within the School of Public Service, was awarded $212,229 to serve as an independent, third-party evaluator for the Idaho Communities of Excellence program, a charter school education organization funded by a federal charter schools program grant. The grant was awarded by Bluum, a non-profit organization committed to expanding high-performing schools in Idaho.

This newly published charter school report will serve as the baseline report for the first cohort of Chart Schools Program sub-grantees. It uses data from the 2018-19 school year. The first cohort consists of five charter schools.
