IPI Research Associate Explains Consequences of Census Undercount

Idaho Policy Institute (IPI) Research Associate, Gabe Osterhout, was quoted in the Idaho Post Register┬áregarding the impact of Census undercounting in rural areas in the state. Accurate counts are crucial; “rural areas won’t receive their fair share [of federal funding] as a result of being undercounted . . .” according to Osterhout.

Osterhout has been leading IPI’s effort to track Census response rates in Idaho, which is being tracked through an interactive dashboard hosted by IPI.
