IPI Research Associate Explains Consequences of Census Undercount

Idaho Policy Institute (IPI) Research Associate, Gabe Osterhout, was quoted in the Idaho Post Register regarding the impact of Census undercounting in rural areas in the state. Accurate counts are crucial; “rural areas won’t receive their fair share [of federal funding] as a result of being undercounted . . .” according to Osterhout.

Osterhout has been leading IPI’s effort to track Census response rates in Idaho, which is being tracked through an interactive dashboard hosted by IPI.
