Internships and Careers
The Urban Studies degree prepares graduates with both classroom learning and internships, since we know that students must experience learning both in and outside of the classroom. Through partnerships across the Treasure Valley, Urban Studies students make connections with employers outside the campus setting, and learn the demands of various professions.
Internships
The Urban Studies degree requirements include one, semester-long, three-credit internship. Options might include: City of Boise Planning 101, Preservation Idaho, private sector developers, professional research firms, etc.
Careers
The Urban Studies degree can launch students into many professions and careers. A student might follow a path to urban planning, historic preservation, environmental planning, parks and recreation work, private sector development, urban policy analysis, arts and culture development, or any number of data analysis jobs. The degree develops students’ skills in written and verbal analysis and spatial and visual presentation.
