Visual storytelling by Arlie Sommer, Investigate Boise 2021

The 120-credit degree builds from a flexible core of urban studies coursework. Workshops extend the classroom. Tours showcase teachable places that illustrate metropolitan trends. Students join practitioners on research projects that can lead to publication. Internships and the senior project ground the study of cities in the geography of a physical place.

Boise State’s Urban Studies and Community Development program is far more than an urban planning degree. Faculty from many disciplines, including political science, planning, economics, sociology, history, and geography will teach you to be an urban analyst, identifying and working to solve problems that cities around the world face daily.
