The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program is designed to increase the recruitment, retention and graduation rate of underrepresented students in the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). LSAMP serves Boise State and College of Western Idaho by connecting students to internship, paid research opportunities and a vibrant STEM community from recruitment through graduation. LSAMP Research Experience for Undergraduates
The LSAMP Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (LSAMP REU) provides LSAMP eligible students with a $2,500 stipend to conduct research with a faculty member at Boise State University for 10 weeks, 20 hours per week, during the summer. LSAMP REU students work with a distinguished faculty mentor and develop research knowledge, critical thinking, and leadership and communication skills. The LSAMP REU students participate in the Summer Research Community seminar event and present their research at the Idaho Conference on Undergraduate Research.
