5 ½ Hidden Gems on Boise State’s Campus

Whether you’ve been at Boise State for a couple of years now, or it’s your first year here, there are tons of hidden gems to be found around campus. I’m always looking for a new hangout/study spot or a way to fill some of my free time. From broadcasting, galleries, and secluded spots, there is a lot that you might not have heard about. Here are 5 ½ Hidden Gems that are located throughout campus:

1) The Blue Galleries (CVA)

The Blue Galleries are in the Center for the Visual Arts, they host a variety of artists who have graduated from the Department of Art, Design, and Visual Studies. This exhibit is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Plus, they are FREE!

2) 360 Broadcasting Room (Communication Building)

Interested in filming live events? The 360 Broadcasting Room gives you a chance to film using multiple different uses of angles. Giving you the chande to learn more about production, this kind of format, and live events. If you are a little confused about what this entails, schedule a tour by emailing, NathanielSynder@boisestate.edu

3) Resiliency Room (SUB)

School can be overwhelming, and it can be hard to find moments alone to reconnect with yourself. The resilience room offers just that, a relaxing space that is secluded and away from people. To find it, just go up the stairs next to the Bronco Shop, and it will be in the first hallway on the left. To make the experience more relaxing, this room offers prayer bowls, rosary, self-therapy cards, pillows for sitting and kneeling, a sound machine, and so much more.

4) Business Building Balcony

The top of the Micron Business and Economics Building has a balcony, which is the perfect place to enjoy a study spot outside, or even a place to hang out and eat. Don’t forget your student ID to unlock the balcony door from the Williams Boardroom on the fourth floor!

5) Hidden Listening Room

Located on the third floor of Albertsons Library, there is a separate room that you will see on your way to the egg chairs (towards the greenbelt). It’s a cozy room that has vinyls and CDs that you can play while you study. This is a great way to make your library experience more interesting and maybe even discover a new favorite album.

5 1/2) Keep an eye out for more spots!

This list can get you started but there’s plenty more gems scattered around campus. Keep an eye out while you’re walking around, explore the campus map, and tag @boisestatestudentlife when you find new spots!
