Happy spring, Broncos! Do you ever see those TikToks of students stopping others on college campuses to ask them what they’re listening to? Yes? Great. We have too. So, we thought it would be fun to ask you the same thing. Whether it be podcasts, morning playlists, or tunes for cruising the Greenbelt, we asked our campus community on our Instagram page what they’ve been listening to. Keep on reading for playlists, jams, and really anything in general that Broncos are listening to this spring!

1) Your good morning playlist

When you’re getting ready in the morning or stumbling to the kitchen to make that first cup of coffee, the right vibes are an important part to how you start your day. Broncos listened to “Easy” by The Commodores, “As it Was” by Harry Styles, and, of course, “Good Morning” by Kanye West.

2) Walking along the Greenbelt

What better place to pop in your AirPods than our Boise River Greenbelt? Some great picks from your peers for walking along the river include: “Pink + White” by Frank Ocean, “Sunflower” by Rex Orange County, “Fast Car” by Tracey Chapman, and “UGH!” by The 1975.

3) Studying tunes

Music can be a great way to spice your studying or homework life, something that we touched on in our article on ways to make this your best academic semester yet. Some tunes you could add to a new studying playlist are: “Cover Me Up” by Morgan Wallen, “Passionfruit” by Drake, “Lady May” by Tyler Childers, plus lots of lo-fi study beats and videos. You can find some great lo-fi videos to toss on in the background on YouTube.

4) Podcasts

You don’t need me to tell you that we are the generation of podcasting. Some podcasts fellow Broncos are listening to include: the Cold and Suspect true crime podcasts, The Joe Rogan Experience, Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlin, Made for This with Jeninne Allen, and Fun and Gains with Brittany Lupton.

5) According to Spotify, we listen to a little bit of everything

If you don’t have Spotify, then you may not be familiar with the “Sounds of Boise State University” playlist. This is a public playlist that takes data from users via location and student discount accounts to curate exactly what students at different universities across the world are listening to. If you take a look at ours, we as Boise State listeners are very diverse in taste. There are some big country names in there like Jon Pardi and Brett Young, hip-hop hitmakers like Mac Miller and Jack Harlow, and even some indie-rock bands like Wallows and Harbour. This playlist is updated frequently so feel free to check it out if you’re ever curious about the wide range of music your peers are playing!
