5 1/2 Things the Library Can Help You With

If you think the library is just a quiet place to study or do homework, well, think again. Albertsons Library offers so many helpful resources no matter what it is you’re working on. So grab your facial covering and get to the library this semester. Here are just a few things for you to take advantage of:

1) They have a video production suite

Interested in starting your own show or podcast? The video production suite has many different backdrops, lighting, microphones, and the full suite of Adobe and iMovie software. Bring your ideas to life and become a YouTube star.

2) Plenty of things to make at the Maker Lab

How about a 3D representation of a project you’re working on? The Maker Lab offers coaching and access to emerging technology on things such as design printing, 3D printing, resin printing, soldering and even knitting. The lab offers coaching and even workshops on these things and more.

3) Find your textbooks and rent technology accessories

Forget to buy a book? The first floor circulation desk may have the textbook you’re needing for class. They also rent out laptops, chargers, and even cameras and photography equipment.

4) Study in peace in the silent study rooms

Need a quiet place to study? The library also has private group study rooms you can reserve online. Don’t wait until the last minute as these rooms fill up quickly during midterms and finals week. Reserve your room here.

5) Research doesn’t have to be a lonely process

Albertsons Library is filled with knowledgeable librarians that can help you find academic research and credible articles to help you with class work. Don’t hesitate to reach out to a librarian the next time you’re struggling with research. Materials cover every major here at Boise State, and the librarians know just how to help you find what you need.
