Chris Thomas is one of the top running backs in the history of Boise State University and the Big Sky Conference. When his Bronco career ended in 1991, Thomas held the league record for career rushing attempts with 810, and was ranked third on the all-time league’s rushing list with 3,347 yards. He is the second leading rusher in Bronco history, and is also ranked second all-time for all-purpose yards at Boise State with 4,807. His top all-purpose running game was in 1989 when he gained a school record 268 yards against Idaho. Thomas is one of only five former Bronco players to rush for 200 or more yards in a single game. He performed the feat against Weber State in 1988. Thirteen times Thomas rushed for over 100 yards for the Broncos, which is the second all-time mark at Boise State. Thomas received first team All-Big Sky Conference honors three times (1989, 1990 and 1991). He was the only sophomore named to the league’s first team in 1989. During his sophomore season Thomas led the Big Sky Conference in kickoff return average with a 27.9 yards-per-run mark. Thomas was also an outstanding receiver catching 93 passes during his career. He graduated from Boise State in 1993 with a degree in Communications.
