Peter Kwiatkowski was a dominate football player at the conference and national level during his four years playing for the Broncos. Named the Big Sky Conference’s Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year in 1987, Kwiatkowski made 101 total tackles, including 15 quarterback sacks. As a senior, Kwiatkowski received first team All-American honors from the Associated Press, American Football Coaches/Kodak, Walter Camp Foundation, and The Sports Network. Twice he was named first team All-Big Sky Conference, and as a junior in 1986, he received honorable mention All-American honors from the AP. He is second on the Boise State’s all-time list for tackles made for loss (quarterback sacks and other tackles for loss) in a career with 62. One the all-time tackle list, Kwiatkowski ranks 15th with 261. A member of the Bronco football coaching staff since 1989, Kwiatkowski helped guide Boise State to a NCAA Division I-AA semifinal appearance in 1990 and runner-up finish for the 1994 NCAA Division I-AA National Championship.
