Allison Corona is an entrepreneur. A visionary. A creator. A provider for her family and supporter of her community. She brings the heat. Allison is Chicana.

A Boise State alum who double majored in Spanish language and literature, and fine arts with an emphasis in photography, Allison also enrolled in the Fall 2020 Venture College Incubator. Although she is an accomplished photographer and content creator, she wanted to do something different. She wanted to bring her Mexican family’s salsa macha recipe to the United States market, with her own concept and expansion on flavors.

“My family in Mexico is incredibly proud that we’re continuing their legacy.”

With modest savings, and knowledge and skills gained through the Boise State Venture College, a program within the College of Innovation + Design at Boise State University, Chicana Foods was born. Her small start up business and story turned heads and hearts at the 2021 Trailmix Pitch Competition at Boise Entrepreneur Week, where Allison earned the Impact Award and $5,000 to further support her venture.
