  • Kenzie Sorrells, MS

    Director of Wellness Services

    McKenzie obtained her B.S. in Kinesiology at Boise State University and her M.S. in Health Education at The University of Utah. McKenzie is a Certified Health Education Specialist, Exercise Physiologist, and National Board Health and Wellness Coach. As the Director of Wellness Services, McKenzie develops and oversees integrated and comprehensive wellness programming for Boise State’s community. McKenzie’s favorite aspect of her job is creating well-being programs that are holistic and impactful to students, faculty, and staff. In her spare time McKenzie enjoys hiking, listening to podcasts, paddle-boarding and eating yummy food.

    Elizabeth Branham, MPH, CHES

    Health Educator

    Elizabeth is a Certified Health Education Specialist who is proud to call Boise State her alma mater. She started working for Wellness Services as a Peer Health Educator and has enjoyed serving the campus population in a full time capacity. As a Health Educator for Wellness Services she focuses on alcohol and other drug programming as well as healthy relationships, amongst other topics. She has a passion for college students and believes that providing a health and well-being touchpoint for students is key to their success in college. As a native Oregonian, she enjoys spending time outdoors and going on road trips to experience all the beauty that Idaho has to offer.

    Justin Herbert, MEd, CHES

    Health Educator

    Justin is a Certified Health Education Specialist who is a native from the greater Chicagoland area. He received his B.S. in Health Promotion and M.Ed. in Curriculum Design and Instruction from Weber State University. As a Health Educator with the Wellness Services team, Justin focuses on programming related to mental health education, coping skills, and emotional intelligence/awareness/regulation. He is passionate about building a thriving, inclusive, and successful community for students during their time in college. In his free time, Justin enjoys snowboarding in the winter months, watching college sports, and creating new tasty recipes or trying local restaurants. He also appreciates spending time with his friends, family and dogs, Wrigley and Willow.

    Kenzie is a Certified Health Education Specialist from Boise, Idaho. She received her Masters of Public Health degree with an emphasis in Prevention and Intervention Programming from Boise State University in 2023. As a Health Educator for Wellness Services she focuses on healthy relationships and sexual health programming on campus. In this role, Kenzie aims to empower students with the tools and education necessary to navigate healthy interactions in their relationships. She wholeheartedly believes in the protective power of community and engaging young people in identifying their own resilience and strength. Outside of work, Kenzie enjoys mountain biking the endless trails her hometown has to offer and being active with her energetic border collie, Luna.

Peer Health Educators

Our peer educators work across campus to make our students healthier and get hands-on experience with program planning, implementation and evaluation. They come from a variety of backgrounds and are some of the highest-paid student employees on campus with the opportunity for internship credit!     Promotions Coordinator

    Cara received her Bachelor in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Boise State University in 2014.  During her sophomore year, she became a promotions intern at University Health Services and has been a part of the promotions and marketing team ever since. Cara is responsible for the graphic design and promotion of all items housed under University Health Services, including Wellness Services. Her favorite part of the job is the opportunity to be creative and work on a variety of projects daily. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog, cooking, and thrift shopping.
