The Application Process:

The English Teaching program accepts applications each fall. Applications are due on the third Friday of September.

When do I apply?

When you have three semesters of coursework remaining, it is time to apply. See the B.A. in English Teaching page for more information about the program timeline.

How do I apply?

The College of Education coordinates the application to Teacher Education. After the College of Education receives and approves your application, the English Teaching faculty will contact you for an interview.

  • Step 1: Create a Taskstream account with the College of Education.
  • Step 2: Attend a Taskstream workshop.
  • Step 3: Complete the following application items on Taskstream:
    • Letter of application
    • Case study response
  • Step 4: Attend an interview with the English Teaching faculty. You do not need to prepare materials for this interview.

What are the admission requirements?

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Completed coursework as shown on the B.A. in English Teaching page
  • English Teaching students are NOT required to take a Praxis exam before applying to the Teacher Education program
