BLUE TURF THINKERS WANTED
What others see as a blue football turf, we see as a symbol of innovation at Boise State. Our Blue Turf is a reflection of our approach to your education. It represents a mindset we call Blue Turf Thinking, and it’s open to anyone and everyone who dares to think differently. It’s about breaking norms, blazing new trails and imagining the possibilities of what could be. It’s taking risks that matter and solving real-world problems. And we want you to be a part of it.
Maximize your potential. Achieve More.
Our 200 majors and minors will prepare you for endless opportunities. You’ll also have the ability to combine minors, certificates, internships, hands-on research and more to make sure your education and experience is designed to fit your specific needs.
You’ll find a range of exciting degree programs that foster success, lifelong learning, community engagement, innovation and creativity.
Innovation and Research
As a Carnegie doctoral research institution, our professors perform cutting-edge research that keeps classes relevant and ensures you’ll have access to the most recent information about your career field.
Even as a freshman in introductory courses, most of your classes will be taught by full-time professors (not graduate assistants), many of whom are recognized as experts in their fields and have access to state-of-the-art research opportunities. Our commitment to providing hands-on learning for all our students results in unmatched research exposure and opportunity.
Meet a Blue Turf Thinker
At 25, Alejandra (Ally) Almaraz has been working on her undergraduate degree, while also working for NASA, and doing research for Boise State, on top of her job that pays the bills.
After graduating from Caldwell High School right here in the Treasure Valley, she changed her major multiple times before she found a passion she didn’t even know existed before attending college: material sciences and engineering.
Internship and Career Opportunities
Boise is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country and currently ranks number two on the Forbes list of 25 Best Cities for Young Professionals with several corporate headquarters, state and federal offices, medical centers and media outlets calling the city home. It’s no wonder nearly 52,000 graduates have chosen to live in the Treasure Valley after graduation.
But you don’t have to wait until graduation to start your career! Each year, more than 1,200 students participate in our comprehensive internship program, gaining valuable experience in their field at both public and private institutions.
Find your community. Go further together.
We offer over 200 student-led clubs, from intramural teams to academic clubs to interest groups, that help you get involved, meet other students, have fun and pursue your passions. Boise State is also home to 23 different fraternity and sorority chapters, each guided by academic achievement, leadership development and service. We also have several programs like Alternative Breaks, Service Saturday and our LeaderShape Institute experience, that provide opportunities to lead and serve. You belong here, and we’ll help you get connected and find your people.
