2024 Athletic Leadership Conference

We are inviting you to join us at the 2nd Annual Athletic Leadership Conference at Boise State University on Saturday June 8, 2024. Hosted by the Master of Athletic Leadership Program and the Center for Physical Activity and Sport, this event will include a dynamic set of keynote speakers, leadership panels, and interactive roundtable conversations along with opportunities to network and discuss leadership in sport and athletics with a diverse set of conference participants.

  • Registration is limited to 120 seats for this event. Please register ASAP if interested as we anticipate the conference will fill.

Featured Speakers

  • Dr. Dolores Christensen is a licensed psychologist and the Director of Psychological Resources for OU Student-Athletes (PROS) in The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department. Within PROS, Dolores works directly with OU student-athletes, coaches, and staff to support the mental health and performance psychology needs of OU athletes and teams. She has a master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College.
  • Dr. Scott Pierce is an Associate Professor at the School of Kinesiology and Recreation at Illinois State University. He is originally from New Zealand and moved to the United States in 2008 to complete his Masters’ Degree in Sport Psychology at Miami University (OH) and then his Ph.D in Sport Psychology at Michigan State University in the Institute for the Study of Youth Sport. He is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC®) and an internationally respected researcher. His research focuses on understanding how we can support athletes in the development of psychological skills and life skills in sport, and the transfer of life skills from sport to other life domains. Dr. Pierce has a passion for working with athletes, coaches, and organizations across all levels of sport. He works with multiple high school state associations and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) to develop and deliver leadership development workshops and support their student services initiatives. Dr. Pierce also collaborates with collegiate athletic programs and professional sports organizations to develop and implement programming for resilience, mental performance, and life skills development for athletes.
