Typography

Typography is a critical element in establishing our visual identity and only Boise State’s official fonts should be used to further ensure brand consistency and unification.

Gotham and Garamond

Boise State’s official font is Gotham. This sans serif typeface should be used for all marketing, promotional materials and signage.

Garamond is the official serif typeface. Garamond can be used for body text and in small amounts on marketing and editorial pieces.

Gotham I Package

The Gotham I package can be purchased at an educational discount of $35. Please contact brand@boisestate.edu to submit your request.

Converting Materials to Gotham

If you do not have the Gotham font package, contact our University Printing Coordinator to request design support. Outside designers must purchase the Gotham font directly from Hoefler & Co. if they do not already own it.

Online Applications

At this time, many online applications do not allow for custom fonts to be used. In only those circumstances, Arial or Montserrat should be used as an alternative sans serif font to Gotham and Georgia as an alternative serif font to Garamond. These applications include but are not limited to Google Workspace and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
