CEBS Funding Opportunities

The CEBS Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) wants to help you succeed through funding opportunities.

Funding opportunities include:

  • Full Projects—Projects for COBRE research project leads of up to 3 years for up to $375k direct
  • Pilot Projects—1-year pilot research projects for up to $75k to develop new research or expand existing research, and
  • Facility Vouchers—Up to $5,000 to use at the Fabrication, Characterization, and Testing (FaCT) Core Facility. These funds are intended to help researchers gather preliminary data for a future NIH proposal. Your research must align with the CEBS COBRE theme of biomedical devices, sensors, and systems.

Research Must Align with COBRE Theme

CEBS COBRE professional development opportunities and overarching guidance from our IDeA Programs Office are open to all biomedical researchers across the university and region. However, those who seek CEBS COBRE funding must choose projects that align with our specific COBRE theme. It is to support research and clinical applications that use biomedical devices, sensors, and systems. We are also particularly interested in efforts that span engineering and the biomolecular sciences, and in how teams can gain from convergence and the science of team science.

How to Apply

For any of these CEBS Funding Opportunity forms, submit a 1-page white paper or form as instructed.

Facility vouchers—Vouchers of up to $5k to use in our Fabrication, Characterization, and Testing (FaCT) Core Research Facilities (see CEBS COBRE home page for more about our capabilities).
