Possible Student Internet Fee Refund

Good news! Boise State University has decided to cover the cost of the $30 per credit Student Internet Fee attached to fully online courses, just as in fall 2020. If you’ve paid the Student Internet Fee, your financial account will be automatically adjusted next week to reflect this change. We hope this will provide you some relief during this financially challenging time.

The university used federal COVID emergency funds in the fall to cover the cost of this fee, but those funds have since been exhausted. While details about the most recent federal COVID relief bill passed in December are still being formed, we’re encouraged enough by the legislation that we have decided to absorb the cost of the internet fee during this spring semester as well.

For over a decade the university has used the internet fee to develop a full array of online offerings for campus-based students which augment their in-person courses. The fee does not apply to remote or hybrid classes.

If you have any questions about the savings or your financial account you can contact Student Financial Services at (208) 426-1212 or sfinfo@boisestate.edu.

Good luck with your spring semester!

Sincerely,

Dr. Tony Roark
Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
