Prepare to be dazzled by the strength, grace and creativity of Boise State dance students as they debut new works and choreography at their final performance of the season, Ballet Guns and Bulging Guns, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1, as well as 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at the Morrison Center Danny Peterson Theatre.

Tickets are available at the door, cash or check only, $5 for students and seniors, $7 for general admission. No advance tickets.

The Department of Theatre Arts performance will feature 31 dancers, both Boise State dance students and professionals from the community, showing off ballet skills and modern technique. Most of the dances have been choreographed by Boise State students as a culmination of their dance minor studies. “Some works have a theme and story line to follow and others are mostly about the movement,” explains Marla Hansen, director of the dance program.

The contemporary performance also will feature new work from Idaho Dance Theatre’s Casee Hogg, which includes live music and singing by the artist. Hansen also will present “Perennial” to the music of Jan Garbarek, performed by all of the student choreographers.
