The departments of theatre arts and music debut the celebrated Gilbert and Sullivan musical The Pirates of Penzance at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Morrison Center’s Danny Peterson theatre. The show will continue its run through March 6. Show times can be found on the Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing website.
“The Pirates of Penzance was selected because of its great music, satirical story and variety of roles for our students in both theatre arts and music,” explains Margaret LeMay, managing assistant for the theatre arts department. “As a whimsical satire about class distinctions, our director, Darrin J. Pufall, is making the most of the irreverent and spirited energy of the show. Audiences will be delighted with his comical, surprising and unique approach to one of the classics of the English-speaking stage.”
Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, military, alumni and non-Boise State students, and $10 for groups of 10 or more. (Sales tax not included.) Tickets can be purchased at the Morrison Center box office in person or by phone at (208) 426-1110. Tickets also may be purchased at the door. Other ticketing fees required by the Morrison Center may apply to advanced ticket sales.
