Just in time for the holidays, the art department’s semi-annual Clay and Fire sale will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 10-12 in the Liberal Arts Building, Room 107. Admission is free.

Held each spring and fall semester for nearly 40 years, the sale has become a tradition for many in the Treasure Valley. It features hundreds of original ceramic pieces, ranging from elegant to exotic, made by Boise State students, faculty and alumni. It’s a great opportunity to purchase locally made and truly unique gifts.

A portion of the proceeds benefit Boise State’s Visiting Artists in Ceramics program, which brings world-class artists to campus to teach students and the community about contemporary techniques and concepts. Visiting artists from around the country perform their magic with clay each semester.

The Clay and Fire sale makes it possible for the public to attend these two-day workshops for a nominal fee of $25. Additionally, the workshops are free for Boise State students, faculty and staff.
