One of the winning teams of The Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge

The Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge, a statewide venture competition that aims to stimulate entrepreneurship in the Gem State, is currently accepting team applications from college students across the state. Winning teams will take home a share of $100,000 in seed funding. Preliminary applications are due Feb. 18.

All colleges and universities in the Gem State are invited to participate in the Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge and only one member of each team must be an undergraduate student. Last year, 14 teams of intrepid student entrepreneurs split the prize money home to bolster their businesses.

“This challenge speaks to the entrepreneurial spirit we nurture at Boise State, particularly within the College of Innovation and Design. The investment by Zions Bank is allowing Boise State to partner with all of Idaho‘s institutions of higher-ed to bring compelling ideas forward,” said Gordon Jones, dean of the College of Innovation and Design. “The students and teams who participate have conceived of innovations, developed prototypes and initiated plans for bringing their solutions to market. The seed funding Zions Bank puts forward helps to launch the winners into promising new ventures.”
