Donate your solar glasses! How to help kids see another eclipse

picture of people with eclipse glasses

The solar eclipse was a once in a lifetime event to see in Boise and surrounding areas. But now that’s it’s over, what do we to do with our eclipse glasses?

First and foremost, don’t throw them away, donate them! Boise State staff member Susan Hamblin will be collecting eclipse glasses to donate to Astronomers Without Borders, a California-based organization, wants to collect the glasses and donate them to schools in South America and Asia to protect kids’ eyes when eclipses cross those continents in 2019.

Send glasses to Susan Hamblin, Boise State University Advancement, 1173 University Drive,  Boise, ID 83706 (MS-1030) or better still, drop them off at the Alumni and Friends Center on campus across the street from Albertson’s Stadium at 1173 University Drive, Boise, ID 83706.
