Distinguished Alumni and Alumni Service Award Recipients Announced

The Boise State Alumni Association is celebrating 50 years this year and is pleased to announce the 2017 Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Alumni Service Award recipients.

The recipients will be honored during Homecoming week at the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala on Friday, Nov. 3, and at halftime during the game on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The Distinguished Alumni Award honors those with outstanding professional and personal accomplishments within their chosen profession. This year’s honorees are:

Photo of Bob Bertheau

Bob Bertheau (’84, BS, chemistry). Bertheau is head winemaker for Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery.

Photo of Kelly Buckland

Kelly Buckland (’78, BA, social work). Buckland is the executive director of the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) in Washington D.C.

Photo of Autumn Kersey

Autumn Kersey (’01, BA, communication, ’05, M.Ed., curriculum and instruction). Kersey is the founder and executive director of the Treasure Valley Children’s Theater.

Photo of Tamara Pascoe

Tamara Pascoe (’90, BS, athletic training,’99, MS, kinesiology). Pascoe is the medical director of the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center, Tacoma Street Clinic in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The Distinguished Alumni Service Award honors inspirational recipients for their professional achievements and extraordinary dedication and commitment to volunteer service for the university and the Boise State Alumni Association. This year’s honorees are:

Yvette Barrios (’03, BSM, mechanical engineering). Barrios is a future product marketing program manager at Hewlett Packard.

Photo of Ron Crouch

Ron Crouch (’77, BBA, accountancy). Crouch is a retired program manager for the State of Idaho Division of Building Safety. He is the current president of the Intercollegiate Knights Alumni Chapter.

 

Join alumni, faculty, staff and others for the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala to celebrate 50-years of the Boise State Alumni Association and honor distinguished alumni. The gala will be held this year at 6 p.m. in the Simplot Ballroom of the Boise State Student Union. The theme will be a nostalgic journey back to 1967, the ballroom will be transformed to an era of 60s glamour.

he campus community, alumni, students and the public are invited to attend the gala, but tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $65 for alumni association members, $75 for non-members and $500 for a table of eight guests. The Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala is sponsored by partners Liberty Mutual Insurance and Mountain America Credit Union.
