First, Boise State University’s Idaho Film Collection and the Idaho Film Foundation are accepting applications from current Boise State students for grants to support small film, video and photography projects. Grants will range from $250 to $500. Projects can be at any stage, from development to post-production.
Interested students should send a one- to two-page description of their project, including other anticipated sources of funding, and an itemized budget to Mariah Devereux Herbeck (devereuxherbeck@boisestate.edu) by Nov. 12.
Project descriptions also should include a summary of the project, description of the intended audience, list of student participants, timeline for completion and a distribution or exhibition plan. Students are strongly encouraged to review their proposal and budget with their film/photography instructor(s) before submitting their applications. A committee will review the applications in December. Students who receive a grant will then present their work at student showcase held in spring 2019.
The second grant is provided by the Idaho Film Collection which supports scholarly research and creative regional activities in film, photography and media studies. Faculty members are eligible to apply. Applicants should provide a detailed, itemized one-page budget for the proposed project that includes other anticipated sources of funding, and describes how IFC can best support the project. Typically, grants range from $500 to $1,500.
Submit applications to Herbeck by Oct. 15 or March 15, 2019. Proposals will be reviewed as expeditiously as possible with notification provided usually within two weeks.
