The College of Arts and Sciences invites the campus community to celebrate the retirement of Evelyn Redshaw, Senior Business Manager. Her celebration will be held on Monday, January 14 from 2-4 p.m. in the Lookout Room at the Student Union Building. She will be formally recognized by Interim Dean Dr. Leslie Durham at 2:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and beverages during reception hours.

Redshaw has been employed at Boise State for 15 years, serving solely in the role of senior business manager of the College of Arts and Sciences. She has served under four COAS deans and has shepherded the financial growth and stability of the college to its current structure of 16 departments and over 600 faculty and staff members.

Redshaw received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from Boise State in 1997, and successfully passed the CPA exam in 1998. She started her career at Boise Cascade before moving to Boise State University.

“What impresses me most about Evelyn, in addition to her technical expertise, is her dedication,” said Interim Provost and former COAS Dean Tony Roark.  “She puts in long, effortful hours, is always willing to step in and help whenever asked, and has provided invaluable training for so many staff members in COAS.  Although her retirement is most well deserved, her absence will be felt in many ways, and I will sincerely miss interacting with her.”

Current Interim Dean Leslie Durham shared, “Evelyn’s knowledge and guidance have been crucial to the success of the College of Arts and Sciences. Her precision, ethics, and insights have helped us steer a strong, steady course. She will be missed by faculty and staff across the College, but I feel certain that everyone who knows her wishes her a very happy retirement.”

Redshaw plans to spend her retirement with her husband of 39 years, Dr. Jim Redshaw, who also recently retired. The Redshaws have two grown sons, Jeff and Sean. In retirement, they plan on spending time with their two granddaughters, as well as travelling both in the United States and abroad.

We wish Evelyn much deserved rest, relaxation and enjoyment as she enters this new phase of her life.
