Idaho Dance Theatre (IDT) presents “All Embracing,” an evening of exploration, collaboration and impassioned dance, from Oct. 19-22.
Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Boise State Special Events Center Oct. 19-21, and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 22. Tickets are $30 for preferred seating; $20 for general admission; $15 for military, seniors and Boise State faculty and staff; $12 for non-Boise State students; and $10 for Boise State students with ID. Tickets for the Oct. 19 preview show are simply $10 for general admission and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.comor at the door.
IDT will open the performance with a collaborative piece with Open Arms Dance Project directed by Megan Brandel. Open Arms is a multigenerational and inclusive modern dance company that welcomes people of all ages, with and without disabilities.
Marla Hansen then will premiere a new work titled “Embody” to “Songs and Poems for Solo Cello,” composed by Philip Glass and performed live by outstanding Boise State music professor Brian Hodges.
Taylorann Evans presents the stories of three humans and the reality of dealing with heart break. IDT’s diverse artists perform to R&B and indie pop music in this piece built on the collaboration of soul, truth of vulnerability and the importance of strength.
IDT dancers and choreographers Sam Mughrabi and Yurek Hansen also will present new works that encompass their diverse styles.
