Dr. Kyle Allen is an Associate Professor of Finance at Boise State University. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from Texas Tech University, an MBA in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management (now part of Arizona State University), and a B.S. in Business Management from Utah Valley University. Dr. Allen has taught a broad range of courses including Commercial Bank Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Financial Statement Analysis, Principles of Finance, and MBA-level finance courses. Before joining Boise State, he served on the faculty at the University of Central Florida, Louisiana Tech University, and Utah Valley University.
Dr. Allen’s research focuses on money market funds, community banks, and the interaction between regulators, financial institutions, and investors. His work frequently examines the unintended consequences of regulatory changes across financial markets. He has published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Financial Stability, the Journal of Financial Services Research, the Financial Review, and the Journal of Banking Regulation, among others. In addition to his scholarly work, Dr. Allen actively contributes to university and professional communities through research mentorship, committee service, and engagement in emerging areas such as athlete valuation and performance modeling.
