Dr. Steven J. Hyde is an Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business and
Economics at Boise State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Texas
at San Antonio, an M.A. in Organizational Sciences from George Washington University, and a B.S.
in Psychology from Southern Utah University.

Dr. Steven Hyde’s research explores the ethical and practical implications of artificial intelligence in society, with a specific focus on corporate governance and education. Within those areas, he has published research on corporate governance, upper echelons theory, justice, AI research, and teaching methods. Dr. Hyde’s research has been published in top-tier academic journals, including the Strategic Management Journal and the Journal of Applied Psychology. In addition to advancing scholarly knowledge, Dr. Hyde’s research has garnered attention from prominent media outlets such as Fast Company, the Boston Globe, and Yahoo Sports.

In the classroom, Dr. Hyde teaches courses on Strategic Management and Strategic Tools at both the undergraduate levels. Dr. Hyde is committed to preparing his students for the AI-driven future of business. He has integrated generative AI technologies throughout his courses. By designing assignments and projects that require students to interact with and leverage AI tools, Dr. Hyde ensures that his students graduate with hands-on experience in applying cutting-edge technologies to strategic analysis and decision-making.

Prior to his academic career, Dr. Hyde gained industry experience as a Researcher at the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), and an Analyst at Penn, Schoen & Berland (PSB).

When not focused on research or teaching, Dr. Hyde can often be found exploring the great outdoors with his family – rock climbing, camping, and hiking.
