Charles Leslie Skoro, Professor of Economics and Chair of the Department of Economics 1982-2000, Passed Away

Charles (Chuck) Leslie Skoro, professor of economics and chair of the Department of Economics 1982-2000, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2016.

Chuck was born on July 28, 1947, in Stibnite, Idaho to Delpha (Hill) and Boyd Skoro. Chuck attended school at Campus Elementary (now part of the Boise State University campus), East Jr. High and graduated from Boise High School in 1965.

He met his wife, Rosie, when they were 11 years old, while participating in accordion lessons and then continued their friendship when they both attended Boise High School.

Chuck was accepted into Columbia University, in New York City, and completed his bachelor’s degree, master’s and Ph.D. in Economics.

Chuck was a professor of economics at Boise State University from 1982 to 2000. He was Chairman of the Economics Department until he decided to step down to become the full-time Campus Minister for St. Paul’s Catholic Student Center on the Boise State campus. He served that ministry faithfully until his retirement in July, 2014.

A celebration of his life will be at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, 1500 E. Wright St, Boise, Idaho. The vigil will be held Friday, April 8, 2106 at 7:00 P.M. and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with a luncheon and burial to follow.
