Professional Networking Week Success

COBE Career Service - Career Expo

More than 250 COBE students engaged in a series of events during our 3rd annual Professional Networking Week (PNW) presented by COBE Career Services earlier this month. The events included Beta Gamma Sigma Networking Breakfast, Etiquette Dinner, Career Expo, and panel discussion in classrooms. More than 50 students took advantage of complimentary professional photographs to use on LinkedIn profiles. The goal of PNW is to connect our students with employers and job opportunities and prepare them for the workplace post-graduation.

The companies participating in PNW numbered more than 30 unique employers and 100+ business professionals. Professional participants spoke highly of the event, were positive about their experiences and were impressed with how Boise State students presented themselves. Zach Townsend of Verified First (@VerifiedFirst) was one such praiser. He blogged about his experience at the COBE Career Expo and summarized his classroom panel discussion into four takeaways of great job-seeking and career advise from Boise professionals. Read Townsend’s blog here.

Participating for the first time were Textron Aviation and Goldman Sachs COBE. Career Services is working with these two companies to develop a recruiting program for the college.

Sponsorships from generous companies funded the event and will go toward serving and supporting our increasing number of students and help COBE Career Services grow.
