Julie Mercado, an assistant professor in the Department of Accountancy, was awarded the 2020 Outstanding Dissertation by the American Accounting Association’s Government and Nonprofit section. The title of her award-winning dissertation is “Donors, Distance, and the Influence of Accounting Information.”
Mercado defended her dissertation March 2020 and received her doctorate from the University of Alabama in May. She joined Boise State’s College of Business and Economics faculty in August.
In 2019, Mercado also received a competitive dissertation grant from the American Accounting Association.
