Syllabi Review and Approval Process

Faculty Liaisons help to ensure that Concurrent Enrollment courses align with their on-campus counterparts by reviewing and approving all course syllabi. The syllabi review process is outlined on this page.

Faculty Liaisons ensure that concurrent enrollment courses align with on-campus courses by reviewing and approving all course syllabi.

For Fall and Year-Long Courses

  • The Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) emails all CEP instructors by the second week in May with a request to submit their syllabi to their Faculty Liaisons (FLs). Syllabi should be submitted by the Friday of the week CEP instructors are back on contract in August.
  • The CEP sends a reminder email to instructors by the first day of August.
  • FLs have two weeks from when they are back on contract in August to review and either approve or offer feedback on syllabi to CEP instructors. If instructors need make changes, they have two weeks from the time they receive feedback to make the changes and re-submit their syllabi.
  • FLs should approve and submit syllabi to the CEP by the third Friday of September. Approved syllabi should be emailed to the CEP at concurrentenrollment@boisestate.edu.

For Spring Courses

  • The CEP emails all CEP instructors by the second week in September to remind them to submit syllabi to their FL by the first Monday in November.
  • The CEP sends a reminder email to instructors by the second week of October.
  • FLs have two weeks from the first Monday in November to review and either approve or offer feedback on syllabi to CE instructors. If instructors need to make changes, they have two weeks from the time that they receive feedback to make the changes and re-submit their syllabi.
  • FLs should approve and submit syllabi to the CEP by Monday of the third week in January. Approved syllabi should be emailed to the CEP at concurrentenrollment@boisestate.edu.

As a reminder, all CEP course syllabi should include the following information:

  • Boise State Concurrent Enrollment Program logo
  • Year and term of the course
  • Learning outcomes for the course
  • Boise State grading scale
  • Any other language required by the University department

All CEP courses that are also Foundation of the Discipline (FD) courses should use the FD Syllabus Cover Page template.

Syllabus Review Accreditation Standards

The process of Faculty Liaisons reviewing and approving the Concurrent Enrollment course syllabi is aligned with the following NACEP Accreditation Standard:

Curriculum 2 (C2): The college/university ensures the concurrent enrollment courses reflect the learning objectives, and the pedagogical, theoretical and philosophical orientation of the respective college/university discipline.
