Podcasts for Your Summer Listening List

As the semester winds down and we head into the summer months, it’s time to start looking forward to what books we’ll be reading. But what about the podcasts that you’ll be listening to? There have been a ton of great podcasts created in recent years on the topics of teaching and learning in higher education. Here are just a few that you might consider adding to your “summer listening list”:

  • Lecture Breakers: In this podcast, educators share innovative teaching strategies to help you break up your lecture, energize your classroom, increase student engagement, and improve learning.
  • Learning Scientists: This is the perfect podcast for teachers, students, and parents that want to learn more about evidence-based practices and learning.
  • UDL in 15 Minutes: In this podcast, Dr. Loui Lord Nelson interviews various teachers and instructors from across education and finds out how they incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into their teaching.
  • Tea for Teaching: This podcast features a series of informal discussions on innovative and effective practices in teaching and learning. It is hosted by John Kane (an economist) and Rebecca Mushtare (a graphic designer) from the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at the State University of New York at Oswego.
  • Teaching in Higher Ed: This podcast explores the art and science of being more effective at facilitating learning. The host and panelists also share ways to increase your personal productivity, so you can have more peace in your lives and be even more present for your students.
  • Cult of Pedagogy: In this podcast, host Jennifer Gonzalez covers a wide variety of teaching-related topics.
