In a recent CTL Partner Workshop, representatives from the Advising and Academic Support Center (AASC) team introduced how instructors can implement course-specific resources and academic success mini-lessons into their classes. Tips included:

Identifying, curating, and clearly communicating relevant resources tailored to the specific course and/or department
Crafting a well-defined academic support syllabus statement that integrates essential resources
Designing a visually engaging resource slide, showcasing key tools to support student success
Developing a practical mini-lesson on crucial topics such as time management, study strategies, and metacognition to integrate in Canvas and/or during class time
Find a sample syllabus statement, a resource slide template, and other information in the workshop slides.
The Advising and Academic Success Center (AASC) works directly with students to provide academic support. These resources include:
Peer Academic Consultants – students who can help you learn study strategies, time management, and test taking techniques
Learning Assistants – students who have taken the course previously and hold sessions to help you deepen your understanding of course content
Online study skills workshops, and other academic success tools, and handouts
Visit the AASC website to book an appointment, view the Learning Assistant schedule, access the workshops and other tools, and see what other academic support is available across campus.
