By requesting a tutor I understand:

1. TRIO ACES will make its best effort to find a qualified tutor, however, my preferred method for tutoring is based on tutor availability.
2. In person tutoring may not be warranted depending on my class, the estimated hourly need, and tutor availability. Tutoring requests for 2 hours or less per week will be referred to campus tutoring resources or online tutoring matching services.
3. I have committed to receiving tutoring each week. This is the time that my tutor has set aside to be with me and for which my tutor is being paid. I realize that missing a session results in lost wages for my tutor. If it becomes clear that I do not need tutoring or if I need less tutoring each week, then I will contact TRIO ACES immediately to let them know.

5. It is my responsibility to bring specific questions to my tutoring appointment. My tutor’s job is to help guide my understanding of the course material and to share strategies to help me learn and study more effectively.
6. My tutor is not a substitute for the professor and will not complete any assignments, essays, or quizzes/tests for me.

8. Any issues not directly related to tutoring must be brought to the attention of my TRIO ACES Specialist and not my tutor.

10. If I drop my class, I must notify my tutor and TRIO ACES immediately.
11. I will check my Boise State email for updates and further instructions. Failure to respond to these emails in a timely manner will result in the cancellation of my tutor request.
