Boise State Valorant qualifies for Red Bull Campus Clutch

Boise State Esports has taken their first step towards Valorant stardom by qualifying for the Red Bull Campus Clutch (RBCC) 2022 tournament. The RBCC is an international tournament featuring thousands of universities from across the globe. Universities from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia will all compete in separate tournaments for their continent. The global grand finals are later this year in Brazil.

The broncos qualified in the USA Rockies division, which is open to universities in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. Boise State joins by New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming as the qualifying teams from this region. The next step for these teams will be the Rockies Offline Qualifier which takes place at the end of October. Then, the top team from this event will qualify for the USA National finals. Finally, the team that wins this event will move onto the international finals in Brazil. Boise State joins this event having already won events such as the Mountain West Valorant championships.

The Red Bull Campus Clutch runs into November. Universities who do not consistently finish as number 1 may not necessarily be out of the USA tournament as a whole. Last chance qualifiers will also be held during the tournament to give one more university who didn’t make the original cut a chance to move on to nationals. Although there are a lot of steps ahead for the tournament, a prize of €20,000 awaits the winner.
