Charles White, M.A., Academic Advisor

Charles White, M.A., is an East Texas transplant who joins us after teaching and advising at Stephen F. Austin (SFA) State University for six years. Charles earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology from SFA as well as published their master’s thesis, College students’ acceptance of trans women and trans men in gendered spaces: The role of physical appearance, in the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Social Services. Charles is excited to continue advising, educating, empowering, and advocating for students as an academic advisor in the College of Health Sciences. Outside of work, Charles enjoys spending time with their partner, catching up on the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and relaxing with their animals (one rabbit, two dogs, four frogs, fifteen fish, and one crawdad). Charles is a nature lover who enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and kayaking. As an avid reader, Charles (mostly) enjoys nonfiction writing on psychological subjects.
