Beyond the Classroom
Beyond your coursework, there are certain skills and competencies that your future employers and potential programs will value. These skills and competencies are best learned through experiences that teach you more about yourself, and what skills are necessary for your success such as patience, work ethic or strong communication.
Therefore, beyond the classroom, your programs will expect that you have learned to orient yourself toward service. Through those experiences students develop taking on more responsibility, topics on ethics, the importance of reliability and dependability, cultural awareness, resilience, adaptability, etc. They will expect effective professional communication, interpersonal skills, and knowing how to work effectively on a team.
