Jane Shimon – Physical Education
Healthy Kids Initiative
Apart of an Idaho Collaborative Universities Research team. Dr. Shimon acted as a co-investigator in the grant “Healthy Kids Initiative: Measuring BMI and Assessing the Status of Physical Education in Idaho”. She has also conducted  research that sought to develop a valid baseline step count and determine the effects of pedometer use with adolescent junior high school students.

Additional Information:
Dr. Shimon’s research focus has been directed towards the preparation  of future physical and health education teachers. Her most recent research has focuses on physical activity and physical fitness in youth populations.  She acts as the Co-Director  of the K-12 Physical Education Program in the Kinesiology Department at Boise State University.
