Moving Out

Are you moving out of housing?

When it’s time to move out, you’ll follow the checkout process listed below. Please note your account may be charged an improper check-out charge of $150 and/or a lock change if the check-out process is not followed and/or keys are not returned on time, in addition to any applicable cleaning and damage charges.

Any Additional closing information will be provided via email, flyers, and floor meetings as needed. Failure to follow posted and written information about the check-out process may result in additional administrative charges. This includes check-outs during the middle of the year due to room changes, petitioning out of the housing agreement, or removal from the halls.

If any of your property is left behind, you will be charged for the removal of any property and daily storage fees. If it is not reclaimed, it will be treated as abandoned property, and the university may donate or otherwise dispose of such property without liability.

Check Out Process

To complete the Residence Life check-out process follow the steps listed below:

  1. Move out items and clean- Cleaning supplies can be checked out at each front desk.
  2. Follow the Checkout Checklist Envelope.. This checkout list can be pick up at the front desk of each community.
  3. Fill out and sign the Express Checkout Form and place in the Checkout Checklist envelope.
  4. Return keys in the Checkout Checklist Envelope Form at the front desk, OR drop box.

By signing the check out sheet, residents attest to completing the tasks outlined above and fully understand and accept any and all charges associated with the checkout.

Residents will be charged for damages and excessive cleaning found in the space. Residents are highly encouraged to take pictures of the empty space for their records.

Any questions regarding your check-out can be directed to the Resident Director.
