Retention & Graduation Rates Dashboard

About this Dashboard

This dashboard offers an interactive platform for exploring Boise State University’s retention and graduation data of bachelor’s degree-seeking cohorts. It enables users to: analyze performance trends over time; compare outcomes across student groups; identify patterns relevant to institutional effectiveness. The dashboard is intended to support transparency, inform planning, and promote a shared understanding of student success metrics in accordance with Boise State’s Strategic Enrollment and Retention Plan (SERP).

Technical Notes:

  • Cohort Definition: Data reflect bachelor’s degree-seeking student cohorts as of the 10th day of the term. From Fall 2012 onward, official cohorts are based on the October 15 census.
  • Allowable Exclusions: Cohort counts and calculations reflect adjustments for students meeting federally recognized exclusions (military service, religious missions, disability, or death).
  • Annual Refresh: Data are updated annually and may differ slightly from external reports (e.g., IPEDS, SERP Annual Report) due to timing and classification criteria.
  • Data Suppression Notice: When filters result in fewer than five students in a given year, the data are not displayed in order to protect individual privacy.
