Cheryl Jorcyk

Bio

Dr. Cheryl L. Jorcyk is the Director of Clinical & Translational Research and a Professor in Department of Biological Sciences and the Biomolecular Sciences Program at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. She oversees a vibrant and accomplished research laboratory at Boise State, which rotates through a team of postdoctoral fellows and research faculty, medical students, graduate students, technicians, undergraduate students, and interns (high school teachers). Her lab’s research has been recognized and strongly supported by both public and private organizations and individuals through grants and other vehicles of competitive financial support.

Scholarship

Dr. Jorcyk is currently the Director of Clinical & Translational Research (CTR) at Boise State. University. As the CTR Director, she is committed to increasing the critical mass of investigators at Boise State actively involved in translational research. She functions to enhance university relationships with community medical and health partners and mentor faculty in fields ranging from basic and translational biomedicine to health sciences, materials science, and biomedical engineering. The Jorcyk Lab is focused on how inflammatory proteins drive tumor invasion and metastasis, specifically in breast, prostate, and ovarian cancer. Translational studies to develop a novel therapeutic to block these inflammatory cytokines are underway.
